About me: Hi there. I am Gavin.
Let me start by telling you a little bit about me. I am a retired Mechanical Engineer living a few hundred metres from the Wild Atlantic Way (WAW) on the West coast of Ireland in County Clare.
I am married and the father of 3 lovely kids.
Gav’s Kitchen is also one of my blogs which keeps me busy.
The Wild Atlantic Way is so beautiful and a must-do for anyone visiting Ireland. You should at least try and visit a part of it.
I have now driven the Wild Atlantic Way by motorbike. My bikes are a 2003 BMW R 1150 RT and a 2004 BMW F 650GS motorcycles, which you may see, together with some of my friends’ bikes, in some of the pictures.
I did most of the route during 2022 and am finishing it off in 2023. The site is populated with original content, visual and textual, that I have created while exploring the best places along this beautiful route.
The site provides readers with pre-planned routes and ways to book their own trips.
As I have mainly travelled by motorcycle I deviate from the official Wild Atlantic Way route here and there. But this is only to provide you with more information about places worth visiting, (and of course to explore them myself).
I hope you find this site interesting and informative, and please provide me with any feedback via the email address (positive I hope) if you wish to.

The Goals for this Wild Atlantic Way Explorers site are to:
provide the most useful website about the Wild Atlantic Way
give great original content to help you plan your trip
show you some great videos along the way
produce routes with POI’s (Point of Interest) along the WAW
provide route itineraries for you to download to Google Maps to suit your trip
give you all the information you need to plan your visit to the WAW
and finally, to hopefully keep my bike upright along the way 😊
