Hi there. Welcome to ExploreWAW.com!

My name is Gav, a retired Mechanical Engineer who lives a few hundred metres from the Wild Atlantic Way (WAW) on the West Coast of Ireland in County Clare. I am the author and have built this site to help you explore the Wild Atlantic Way.

I am a passionate traveller and motorcycle enthusiast and embarked on an unforgettable journey along the scenic Wild Atlantic Way in 2022 and 2023. During this period I have now visited all the mainland Discovery and Signature Points along the Wild Atlantic Way.

I am married and the father of 3 lovely kids.

Wild Atlantic Way Experience

I have traversed the winding roads of the Wild Atlantic Way on my trusty F650GS and R1150RT, some of them several times. This has given me not only the thrill of the open road but also an intimate knowledge of every twist and turn.

My firsthand experience allows me to provide you with valuable insights. This ensures that your road trip adventure is smooth, enjoyable, and filled with unforgettable moments.

The information provided on this site is accurate at the time of writing and also inspired by my personal experiences and research.
